Letters to the Editor
Our American Girl campaign (see story) has generated more correspondence, both in support and in opposition, than any project we have ever done. The following are a few representative examples.
Dear Pro-Life Action League,
Stop trying to tell everyone else what they should do. Let people make up their own minds. Welcome to the 21st century.
As a proud father of two I think it is absurd that a bunch of adults have nothing better to do than try to ruin the reputation of a great organization. Leave judgement to GOD—or have you become so deluded as to believe you are the almighty himself?
I feel sorry for your children. You are raising another generation of close minded idiots who will serve no greater purpose than to keep America mired in the past while the rest of the world (the parts that don't pay attention to your type of hatred spreading rhetoric) move into the future. Find something better to do than worry about what your neighbor is doing in their bedroom.
Patrick, via E-mail
Dear Pro-Life Action League,
My 12-year old daughter Allison and I will support the boycott of American Girl Products. This will be hard for Allison, but she understands what is the real truth in all this is. She herself has written to Ellen L. Brothers, Robert A. Eckert and Susan Jevens personally asking them to distance American Girl from Girls Inc. I am very proud of Allison.
Please add us to your update list; we would like to keep abreast of this. Thank you for loving babies, and showing some light in a very evil world.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Mavis Goebel and Allison Goebel, via E-mail
[Back to Top]Dear Pro-Life Action League,
I just read the article regarding Pro-Life Action League's "debate" with the American Girl company and I have to say that it has really flared me up. How dare Pro-Life Action League knock them for supporting Girls Inc. To just outright attack them because they are supporting an organization that is positive for women and girls disgusts me.
Pro-Life Action League doesn't have to believe in abortion or lesbians, but it is American Girl's AND Girls, Inc.'s right to believe in those things, not to mention the organization promotes positive things for girls, not JUST the things that you are choosing to nitpick at. You call attacking innocent people Christian? You call judging people Christian? I have to say that organizations like this that are going to innocently attack a positive effort for girls is sick. I am not a lesbian, nor have I had an abortion, and I would never abort a child, but it is still a woman's RIGHT to decide if she wants to keep her child or not. Go mind your business and leave innocent people alone.
Katie S—, Coraopolis, PA
Dear Pro-Life Action League,
After hearing of the association between American Girl Dolls and Girls Inc, my daughter no longer wished to spend the $25 American Girl gift certificate she received on her birthday. She has decided to auction it on eBay and give the proceeds to our local crisis pregnancy center.
Thank you for your continued attention to life issues.
Sincerely,
Robb Miller, via E-mail
